Alumna Initiate Program

Our Fraternity provides the Alumna Initiate program for women who do not hold membership in another National Panhellenic Conference or Pan-Hellenic Council Fraternity and are of good character and achievement. By becoming an alumna initiate of Alpha Gamma Delta, she will have full access to sisterhood, resources and a lifetime of Purpose.

Women interested in becoming an alumna initiate should reach out to a local collegiate chapter or an alumnae chapter/club.

Members of Alpha Gam who are in good standing are also able to nominate women they believe would make a wonderful sister.

From there, a group will provide the alumna initiate with an application for International Council. Women can be initiated by a local collegiate chapter, during an installation of a new chapter, or at International Convention.

Alumnae initiates in Alpha Gamma Delta have become:

International President

Chapter Advisors

Volunteer Service Team Members

Staff members

Talent of Leadership winners

Heart of AGD award recipients

Distinguished Citizens

Chapter Charter Members

The Delta Theta Chapter was chartered with two Alumna Initiates (Christine L. Mackert and Katherine Zenier Swenson) who were initiated at International Convention in 1957! Since then, the Delta Theta Chapter has grown our group of Alumna Initiate members including our colleagues, family members, mothers, and peers. Help Delta Theta continue to build upon our rich history by recommending an Alumna initiate member!

Proposed alumnae initiates will be asked to complete an application containing her signature, which indicates her desire to join the Fraternity and her agreement to fulfill financial obligations. She then must be approved by the local alumnae chapter/club and the Executive Council of the local collegiate chapter (if applicable).

The application, with all necessary signatures, must be submitted to International Headquarters at least 60 days prior to the planned Initiation.

Once approved by the Alumnae Initiate Committee, the proposed alumna initiate will receive an official invitation from International Council, information about the history of the Fraternity, and the benefits and responsibilities of membership. Initiation may be held at the next regularly scheduled Initiation Service, at the installation of a new collegiate chapter, or at International Convention.

Alpha Gamma Delta is committed to initiating women for whom the possibility of lifelong active alumnae involvement exists. Alumnae Initiates are encouraged to become actively involved with our collegiate chapters as advisors, as members of our alumnae chapters/clubs or as volunteers with the International Fraternity.
